Prof. Davide is a general surgeon specializing in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, liver, and pancreas transplantation. Qualified in Medicine (MD degree) in 1986 at the University of Porto. Received his certification in General Surgery in 1994. Started as Attending Surgeon at the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Unit of Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto – Portugal, where he has been working since 1995. In 1998, joined the Surgical Team of Liver and Pancreas Transplantation. In 2005, became Consultant Surgeon and, in 2016, Senior Consultant Surgeon. Director of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Unit from 2010 to 2017 and Associate Director of Pancreas Transplantation from 2009 to 2011. Currently, is Head of Pancreas Transplantation since 2011, and Head of General Surgery since 2013. Started to teach Surgery in Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences – Porto University in 1987, currently filling the position of Invited Associate Professor of Surgery.
