Prof. Elene Zhuravliova obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 1999 and a Master’s Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology in 2001 in Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. She obtained a Ph.D. title in Biochemistry (neurochemistry) in 2005. Since 2005 she has worked in I. Beristashvili Center of Experimental Biomedicine (former Institute of Physiology) in the Department of Biochemistry, from 2008 – at the position of Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and from 2013 – Associate Professor at Ilia State University. The main field of research – signaling systems of neural tissue, bioenergetics, and the effect of plant-derived biologically active compounds. Her research is mainly carried out at the Institute of Chemical Biology of Ilia State University.
