Prof. Antanas Gulbinas

Professor of Surgery, Head of Research laboratory, at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, University Hospital Kauno Klinikos, Kaunas, Lithuania.

Prof. Gulbinas obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the Kaunas University of Medicine. Clinical and research interests of Prof. Gulbinas include Abdominal surgery – HPB surgery, liver transplantation, and urgent surgical procedures, including trauma surgery; Lectures on HPB surgery for medical students, training of surgical residents; delivering lectures on the methodology of research, biostatistics, principles of Evidence-based medicine in national and international auditoria; Scientific research of various clinical as well as molecular aspects of digestive system disorders, molecular, genetic changes and management of pancreatic cancer, severe acute pancreatitis, and chronic pancreatitis.

He holds the National Science Prize 2019, awarded by the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences for the work “Research of Molecular Mechanisms of Inflammatory and Malignant Pancreatic Disease: optimization of diagnostic and treatment modalities in the period 2004–2018”. 

Prof. Gulbinas is the author of more than 70 papers in SCI (or SSCI) journals.
